To get started, open any Word document and click the Home tab.* Open Woodpecker by clicking the "Woodpecker Automation" button.

* Word requires version Word 2016 16.0.6769 or later for "Add-in commands" to display in the command ribbon. If you aren't using 2016, see instructions below.

Woodpecker will open up on the right side of your screen and you’ll be prompted to sign in with your Woodpecker account. You’ll then see a screen that will prompt to choose “Initialize Auto-template” or to "Create a field."

If you’re opening an existing Woodpecker document, you’ll see a list of fields that have previously been created for the template.

To launch Woodpecker from a version of Word before 2016 16.0.6769:

  1. Click on Insert

  2. Select My add-ins

3. Click on the Woodpecker icon

You can also simply sign into your Woodpecker account and launch Woodpecker from your dashboard.
